Our Displaced Family is a program started based on a burden to do something for and about the rise of the 'homeless' population. One day in December of 2024, Alyssa DiGiacomo, our owner and CEO, went with a friend to feed the homeless for the holidays. Instead of feeling satisfied, she felt anger. Anger stemming from seeing a problem and showing up with time and effort towards a non solution. June of 2025, she started the ODF program with home-cooked food, art, and care packs. After everything was handed out, the problem was still not addressed. So with the help of Vidal Maraj, owner of Mirage Epoxy Flooring and lead investor for The New World BE, they went back out that day with the Bible and just talked with the individuals there. There was found the beginning of a solution.
A pattern was noticed each month; there had been several other organizations present bringing the 'homeless' population food and sometimes more. Since ODF moved outside of Atlanta to the city of Gainesville, it has been become apparent that while the 'homeless' population is in need, it appears that they are less in need of food and housing, but more in need of willpower. "The City of Tents" has shed light on a community in itself. They have created for themselves shelter out of any material useful. They have grills, cars, and an abundance of assistance from good hearted people with a burden to help.
After realizing that and having conversations with the people that we have met during these Saturdays, we came to the realization that we need to bring light and love to this community more than anything else.
We know and try to respect that 'homelessness' can look different for everyone and anyone affected. We believe that with the help of TNW family, we can bring the solution to fighting this epidemic, as well as fighting many other worldly problems, by bringing along with us light, love, and the Word: to create a hope for better, the will to fight for it, and a family to support them on the journey to it.
We are currently looking into rehabilitation assistance to help support those who would like to fight, and we would love for you to help assist us in inspiring every one of Our Displaced Family to fight for more. We should remember that these are people, they are someone's child, and they are Our Displaced Family.
Thanks TNW, we love you all,
TNW Team.
